UNCLE ALBERT

"Boogie da' Blues"

Tim and Lisa return to Germany in November 2004

Over the Thanksgiving holiday Lisa and I had the opportunity to visit dear friends of ours in Germany. Peter Schnibbe and Grit Borner, they have a beautiful place in Weyhe-Melchiorshausen near Bremen in the north of Germany. We had 10 days to hang out and enjoy friends, wine, their dog Emi and the country side.

Peter has a really good band called Uncle Snake. With that in mind me and Lisa had to play some music while we were there. Peter set up a couple of shows, the first at the Hotel Koch and the second at Viva. We arrived at Peters on Thursday night, had a nice meal, a bier and off to rehearsal to meet the guys in the band. Uncle Snake went through the trouble of learning some Uncle Albert music and we learned some of their stuff.

Friday night we played the Hotel Koch in Weyhe. It's an elegant hotel and restaurant with a great staff. When we walked in an hour before the show it was already standing room only and people still coming in. The evening started with Uncle Snake doing a kick ass set, then Lisa and I did about 40 minutes as a duo, and after a glass of wine, Uncle Snake with Tim and Lisa did a 2 hour plus set of music of the two Uncles. Uncle Snake and Uncle Albert. WOW what a night it was overwhelming the response we got. Everyone made us feel very welcome and they seemed to enjoy the music to the very end. The first snow of the season started just as the first set kicked off. Saturday night we did an acoustic show at a beautiful wine and cheese bar called Viva. It was a repeat of great response from the community. This time Lisa and I did the first set then were accompanied by Peter on percussion and Michael on guitar the rest of the night. Again we had more fun then anyone should be allowed to have.

There are a lot of Thanks in order. First and foremost to Peter for doing all the work of setting up the shows and press and taking care of Lisa and I, to the band for loaning they're equipment to us for both shows. Uncle Snake is... Peter - Drums and vocals, Micky - Guitar and vocals, Torsten - Bass, Ralph - keyboards. You can get their CDs by e-mailing Peter at ARThold@addcom.de Thank You to Hubert and Silke Trimpe at Hotel Koch and to Jorn Krehl and Ben Hindahl at Viva for making us feel welcome.

And most important of all to Grit for welcoming us into her home with open arms. She has a warm heart and beautiful soul. All our Love, Tim and Weezie

There are a lot of new stories so you'll have to ask us about them when you come out to the shows.
